BAHA – Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association – Walking Tour Of North Berkeley’s Villa Tract – Live Oak Park Berryman Neighborhood

Susan Cerny led  a BAHA – Berkeley Architectural Heritage Tour of North Berkeley today, and I was there!

This is an unusual photo gallery for me – I simply uploaded the photos in the sequence that I took them – starting at 1301 Oxford Street, the site off Napoleon Bonaparte Byrne’s home, and wandering between Rose and Eunice, and Bonita and Arch.

I ended up taking more photos of the interesting things I saw along the way than the houses on tour.

So.. come join me as I show you some interesting murals, a dog in a bicycle basket, kids playing in a stream, Wavy Gravy’s house, a sculpture of Mary Magdalene, a parking spot made of railroad ties, sleeping porches, concrete stamps and inscribings, and intriguing sculptures, benches, signs, license plates, and the Rose Grocery.

Be sure to search for one of the last remaining horse hitching posts in Berkeley, and the remnants of a mailbox post dated 1944.

Have fun!

Let me know how you like it.

And be sure to visit the BAHA Web Site – http://www.berkeleyheritage.com
